About the Artist

Sarah Lam grew up in an older tree lined neighborhood, where it was commonplace to see homes dating back to the Victorian era.  Growing up in a house built in the 1940’s,  surrounded by historic homes that were handcrafted and uniquely designed, sparked Sarah’s admiration of vintage architecture. Many hours spent outdoors hiking and horseback riding, fostered an appreciation for the natural world. These two interests combined, a love of the outdoors and an affinity for vintage architecture,  are integral to her art.

Sarah Lam graduated with honors from the University of California Davis, where she studied fine art under professors David Hollowell and Wayne Thiebaud. Through a University sponsored class, Sarah met John Natsoulas, a gallery owner who would become her mentor in the art world.  Impressed by her work, Natsoulas sponsored her first solo show in 2004 at his John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, California, where she continues to regularly exhibit her work.  Additionally, Sarah participates in plein air events throughout Northern California and Central Oregon where she has won many awards for her landscapes.
